According to Wikipedia, phishing is a way of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
I am sure your email boxes are full of spams almost everyday, and in between these spam mails, often are some mails that are cleverly disguised as financial institutions' email (banks), online store notifications and so on. A few examples of those emails that I've received are the ones below. You should notice some minor mistakes in the email, such as weird links that supposedly bring you to the purported site. I don't even have a Maybank account! But if you have one, do not click on the link that is given in the email. Instead, type in the your online banking's address in your address bar to go directly to their website.
